    A sewing I do go.

So, lately I've been working more and more on my Looooooovely little sewing machine, and I have quite a few projects that I'm hoping to undertake with this summer full of free time I have.

I'm a novice seamster at best, but I'm hopeful that I can change that by the time I've finished this stuff.

So far, I've made several skirts and a regency gown (no pics, but I will try.) The regency needs some sprucing up...which I will probably do this summer.

    Current Project:

Learning how to master the boned bodice. I don't have the money to buy boning at the moment, so I'm using zip ties. Nifty little tip I learned.

Here's hoping it all goes well.

    Summer Projects:
    1) Victorian gown
    2) 1790's gown
    3) Two Ren Bodices
    4)Skirts galore.
    5) Bar at la Foiles Bergere recreate.

Anyone out there with hints on easier way to construct corsets...would be greatly appreciated!

So, I haven't been on here in ages. That makes me a little sad.

Recently, I have been working to create my own particular faire persona, and growing my garb collection. My most recent sewing projects was a lovely underskirt (though, it could be altered to become an overskirt) that required about six yards of fabric. It turned out well, for the first time I used that pattern. Photos will come as soon as I can.

What I'm looking for from my fellow rennies out there, do you know of any good shirt patterns? I am lacking a good under-bodice shirt, and desparately need one. I also have lots of muslin and cotton lying around so this would be the ideal time  to make myself some shirts before season starts up.

    Any ideas?

You're welcome! And there're probably costumeing/sewing groups here on Renspace. Another Google effort is "Book of Hours" i.e. "The Book of Hours of Anne of Brittany" for illustrations. So many fabrics and trims, so little time(weelll, sort of) LOL
